After over two decades of supporting Nonprofits through various applications and more than 14 software packages, Salesforce newest solution focuses on the heart of a nonprofit organization’s mission: delivering programs and case management. The Nonprofit Cloud, available since March 2023, works directly within the core of Salesforce and gains access to all industries, rather than working as an application layered on top of the platform.
Designed for whole person care, Nonprofit Cloud works by helping to measure and analyze one of the main priorities of any nonprofit organization: its impact. With hundreds of technology solutions built for various industries, Nonprofit Cloud will work to unify programs, fundraising, engagement, and outcomes. This means a nonprofit can focus on using its data to make decisions that drive its impact, without having to waste time piecing that data together.
The best way to track and analyze an organization’s impact is through its data. Data can come in many different forms, be it relationships, people, or programs. It is only with each of these different relevant forms put together that an organization will be able to obtain a holistic view of its impact. Nonprofit Cloud works to trace these many components of data and determine which are critical to help determine a specific organization’s vision. This makes measuring any sort of outcome much simpler and allows a nonprofit to customize and standardize the way it wants to evaluate its impact.
One of the main advantages of Nonprofit Cloud is that it is built directly into the Salesforce platform. Due to this aspect of the application, it makes it much easier for an organization to adopt technology from other industries within Salesforce. It also improves cross-sector engagement and works to benefit the impact driven for all members being served, regardless of their role within the operation.
Initially focusing on programs and case management, fundraising and outcomes have also been added to Nonprofit Cloud. With these functions, this new form of innovation will work to bring together an organization’s partners along with its stakeholder experiences so that any nonprofit organization can continue creating an even bigger and bigger impact.
Nonprofit Cloud is a part of Salesforce’s Power of Us Program, which provides grants to qualified nonprofit and educational organizations. Also included within this grant are 10 free technology licenses.
Features
Currently, Salesforce is focusing on enhancing the new Nonprofit Cloud instead of Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP).
When compared to NPSP, Nonprofit Cloud offers enhanced features and innovation, including artificial intelligence capabilities. However, it doesn’t yet offer some functionality available in NPSP, such as volunteer management. Those nonprofits who work with NPSP should note that; migrating from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud requires creating a new Salesforce org and can be an extensive process; Nonprofit Cloud is more expensive than NPSP; You may prefer to receive more support from Salesforce, which is available through Nonprofit Cloud and If the apps you use with NPSP don’t work within Nonprofit Cloud, you might want to stay on NPSP.
